About Form

Working

Jon Purchase graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2002 with an honours degree in 3D art and design. He went on to work as a joiner for 3 years gaining further experience in joinery, production techniques and finishing. It was the design and build of high quality bespoke work for peoples homes that interested him the most and to allow him to focus fully on this area of woodwork he decided to start his own company.

Form Woodwork was started by Jon Purchase in 2005 and offers the highest quality craftsmanship applied to all projects, from free standing furniture to technically challenging large installations built into your home. To keep the personal approach and individuality of his work at the highest level Jon has remained the single employee of Form Woodwork and over the past years has acquired a wide ranging portfolio.

Woodstack

I work in a range of materials from exotic hard woods through to pine and MDF depending on the requirements of the project and customer preferences. Timber is purchased from local suppliers and is sourced from all over Europe. All boards are hand selected to ensure the highest quality and consistency throughout each project. I do my best to make sure only timber from managed sustainable sources are used.

Workshot

My workshop is based in the heart of East Sussex in a small converted farm in Plumpton Green. All my work is handmade using a combination of traditional techniques and modern joinery practices. This allows my work to comply with all current regulations and at the same time maintain a timeless robust feel that will last a lifetime.
